- 28.8 may be a bit of overkill, but the new modems do offer good features,
- are reliable, and due to compression, can end up running a bit faster than a
- 14.4. The 500 can handle 38400 with no problem, and may be able to handle
- 57600 (though it will never actually reach that rate in practice, it may allow
- for better performance).
